| About the Artist
Jim McCreery learned his basket art from Judy Mallow a fifth generation basket maker at the prestigious John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. All of Jim’s baskets are made from natural materials, the Long Leaf Pine Needles and walnut slices come from North Carolina trees.
The other embellishments come from various sources but are mostly natural like the Job’s Tears, which he grows in his garden. Most of Jim’s baskets are one-of-a-kind, he starts with a base and then the spirit takes over to create a beautiful basket.
